SELECTION OF WORKMEN ON CONTRACT BASIS
Cochin Shipyard Limited, a listed premier Mini Ratna Company of Government of India invites Online applications to the following posts for appointment on contract basis:
I. Name of Posts, Trade, No. of Vacancies/Reservation, Qualification and Experience:
A. FABRICATION ASSISTANTS ON CONTRACT
A.1 Sheet Metal Worker 88 Posts (UR-44, OBC-23, SC-12*, ST – 1, EWS-8) *6 SC Backlog
Pass in SSLC and ITI –NTC (National Trade Certificate) in the trade of Sheet Metal Worker or Fitter. Minimum of three years post qualification experience / training in fabrication, i.e. cutting, fit up and welding process.
A.2 Welder 71 Posts (UR-33, OBC-25, SC-5*, ST-1, EWS-7) *2 SC Backlog
Pass in SSLC and ITI –NTC (National Trade Certificate) in the trade of Welder. Minimum of three years post qualification experience / training in the relevant trade.
B. OUTFIT ASSISTANTS ON CONTRACT
B.1 Fitter 31 Posts (UR-2, OBC-18*, SC-10*, EWS-1) *18 OBC & 10 SC Backlog
Pass in SSLC and ITI –NTC (National Trade Certificate) in the trade of Fitter. Minimum of three years post qualification experience /training in the relevant trade.
B.2 Mechanic Diesel 30 Posts (UR-13, OBC-11, SC-4, EWS-2)
Pass in SSLC and ITI –NTC (National Trade Certificate) in the trade of Mechanic Diesel. Minimum of three years post qualification experience / training in the relevant trade.
B.3 Mechanic Motor Vehicle 6 Posts (UR-5, SC-1)
Pass in SSLC and ITI –NTC (National Trade Certificate) in the trade of Mechanic Motor Vehicle. Minimum of three years post qualification experience / training in the relevant trade.
B.4 Fitter Pipe (Plumber) 21 Posts (UR-5, OBC-12*, SC-2*, ST-1, EWS-1) *8 OBC & 1 SC Backlog
Pass in SSLC and ITI –NTC (National Trade Certificate) in the trade of Fitter Pipe / Plumber. Minimum of three years post qualification experience / training in the relevant trade.
B.5 Painter 13 Posts (UR-8, OBC-3, SC-1, EWS-1,)
Pass in SSLC and ITI –NTC (National Trade Certificate) in the trade of Painter. Minimum of three years post qualification experience / training in the relevant trade.
B.6 Electrician 63 Posts (UR-25, OBC-24*, SC-8*, EWS-6) *20 OBC & 7 SC Backlog
Pass in SSLC and ITI –NTC (National Trade Certificate) in the trade of Electrician. Minimum of three years post qualification experience / training in the relevant trade.
B.7 Crane Operator(EOT) 19 Posts (UR-12, OBC-5*, SC1, EWS-1) *3 OBC Backlog
Pass in SSLC and ITI –NTC (National Trade Certificate) in the trade of Electrician or Electronic Mechanic. Minimum of three years post qualification experience /training in operation of cranes (electrical).
B.8 Electronic Mechanic 65 Posts (UR-33, OBC-20*, SC-6*, EWS-6) *19 OBC & 5 SC Backlog
Pass in SSLC and ITI –NTC (National Trade Certificate) in the trade of Electronic Mechanic. Minimum of three years post qualification experience /training in the relevant trade.
B.9 Instrument Mechanic 65 Posts (UR-32, OBC-18*, SC-8*, ST-1, EWS-6) *17 OBC & 8 SC Backlog
Pass in SSLC and ITI –NTC (National Trade Certificate) in the trade of Instrument Mechanic. Minimum of three years post qualification experience /training in the relevant trade.
B.10 Shipwright Wood 15 Posts (UR-11, OBC-3, EWS-1) Pass in SSLC and ITI –NTC (National Trade Certificate) in the trade of Shipwright Wood. Minimum of three years post qualification experience /training in the relevant trade.
B.11 Machinist 11 Posts (UR-5, OBC-4, SC-1, EWS-1)
Pass in SSLC and ITI –NTC (National Trade Certificate)in the trade of Machinist. Minimum of three years post qualification experience /training in the relevant trade.
B.12 Auto Electrician 2 posts (UR)
Pass in SSLC and ITI –NTC (National Trade Certificate) in the trade of Mechanic Auto Electrical & Electronics (MAEE) or Mechanic Motor Vehicle. Minimum of three years post qualification experience in OEM based service centres like Maruti, Renault, Hyundai, Voltas, Escorts, TATA, Bharat –Benz etc.
C Scaffolder on contract 19 Posts (UR-11, OBC- 5* SC2*, EWS-1) *2 OBC & 1 SC Backlog
Pass in SSLC and ITI (NTC) in the trade of Sheet Metal Worker/Fitter Pipe (Plumber)/Fitter with one or two years experience/training in general structural / scaffolding / rigging work. Or Pass in SSLC with a minimum of three years experience/training in general structural / scaffolding / rigging work.
D Aerial Work Platform Operator on contract 2 Posts (UR)
Pass in SSLC and a valid Forklift or Crane Operator driving license. Minimum of three years post qualification experience for operating Forklift / JCB / Aerial Work Platform from a Logistics/ Transport Service Provider/ Travel Agency.
E Semi Skilled Rigger on contract 53 Posts (UR-22, OBC-18*, SC-7*, ST-1, EWS-5) *7 OBC & 2 SC Backlog
Pass in IV Std. Minimum of three years experience in Rigging of which two years in rigging of heavy duty machine parts, assisting in the erection of machinery/ equipment etc, Good knowledge of splicing work of wire ropes.
F Serang on contract 2 Posts (UR)
VII standard pass and valid Serang / Lascar cum Serang Certificate issued by the Competent Authority under the relevant statutes. Minimum one year experience as Serang of a Motor Boat.
G Cook for CSL Guest House on contract 1 Post (UR)
Pass in VII Std. Minimum of five years experience as cook in Government or PSU Guest house/Factory Canteen/3 Star Hotel/Mess of Armed Forces/State Police/Food Catering Service Agency. Knowledge of Malayalam desirable.
Total Number of Posts 577 Posts (UR-268, OBC-189, SC-68, ST-5, EWS-47)
II. Period of Contract All posts above are temporary in nature and for a maximum period of three years subject to project requirements and performance.
IV. Age
a) For posts at Sl Nos. A, B, C, D, E & F, the upper age limit prescribed for the posts shall be 30 years as on 10 Oct 2020. The upper age limit is relaxable by 3 years for OBC (Non Creamy Layer) candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates in posts reserved for them. The upper age limit shall be relaxable for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) & Ex-servicemen as per Government of India guidelines subject to a maximum age of 45 years.
b) For post at Sl No. G, age shall not exceed 50 years as on 10 Oct 2020. The upper age limit shall be relaxable for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) & Ex-servicemen as per Government of India guidelines subject to a maximum age of 55 years.
V. Method of Selection
a) For the posts of Fabrication Assistants and Outfit Assistants on contract basis:-
(i) The method of selection shall include
Phase I consisting of an Objective type online test and
Phase II consisting of Practical Test. Accordingly, weightages are assigned to the following parameters for final selection:
• ITI (NTC) Marks : 20 %
• Objective type online test : 30 %
• Practical Test : 50 % (Based on grades obtained in the test)
