Applications are invited from ITI qualified INDIAN national candidates for Apprenticeship Training in the following designated trades for a period of one year at Naval Dockyard Apprentices School, Visakhapatnam, [DAS (Vzg)] for the Apprenticeship training batch 2026-27 ni accordance with Apprentices Act 1961 read ni conjunction with Apprenticeship Rules 1992 as amended from time to time:-
Qualification/ Eligibility Criteria.
1 SSC/ Matric/ Std X : 50%
2 ITI (NCVT/ SCVT) : 65%
Age.
No upper age restriction for apprenticeship training as per Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) office memorandum No. F.No. MSDE-14(03)/2021 AP-(PMU) dated 20 Dec 21. Minimum age is 14 years and for hazardous trades ti is 18 years according to 'The Apprentices Act 1961. Accordingly, candidates born on or before 02 May 2012 are eligible for non- hazardous trades and candidates born on or before 02 May 2008 are eligible for hazardous trades.
Procedure for Applying for Apprenticeship.
Candidates to follow the laid down procedure for applying apprenticeship training.
4.1. Candidates have to first register themselves in online portal at www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in under National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) mandatorily.
4.2. Before registration, candidate must ensure that name and date of birth in both Aadhar card and S S / matriculation certificate are same. Otherwise, change the details in Aadhar card according to the SSC certificate.
4.3. Open www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in. web portal. Click on 'Register' module in the home page and click on 'Candidate' from drop down menu.
4.4. Candidate registration page would open. Fill up the all basic details like name, DOB, valid e-mail address, mobile number etc. correctly and submit. Post submission, a system generated auto mail would be received through e-mail for profile activation. Activate profile to complete registration.
4.5. After registration, login to www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in. web portal with the username (registered mail id) and password. Enter educational details, contact address, trade preference, Aadhar, PAN &bank details, community etc., upload all supporting documents and validate Aadhar number to complete 100% profile completion.
4.6. Thereafter, click on 'Apprenticeship Opportunities' in the home page and click on 'Search by Establishment Name' from menu and enter "NAVAL DOCKYARD" (Establishment ID: 08152800002) in capital letters and select Naval Dockyard, Visakhapatnam. A list of trades operated in Naval dockyard, Visakhapatnam wil be displayed. Then select "Apply" against the desired trade. Any further instructions may be followed as per the apprenticeship portal guidelines.
4.7. After applying for the trade, take a printout of the complete profile for forwarding to DAS (Vzg) along with application.
4.8. Take printout of two copies of hal ticket (format placed at Annexure -I of thisadvertisement) duly fil with bal point pen and paste recent passport colour photograph at earmarked box.
4.9. Apprentice profile, two original hal tickets and al relevant documents along with check-off list placed at Annexure- Il of this advertisement indicating status of
enclosed documents are required to be forwarded in an envelope cover (Write trade name on application envelop cover) to "The Officer-in-Charge (for Apprenticeship), Naval Dockyard Apprentices School, VM Naval Base S.O., P.O., Visakhapatnam - 530 014, Andhra Pradesh" by Post. This would be considered as the off-line application for the purpose of enrollment.
4.10. A self-addressed empty envelope affixed with Rs.55/- postal stamps (for dispatching hall ticket to the candidate through Speed Post) shall be forwarded along with application.
4.11. Last date of receipt of applications at DAS (V) is 02 January 2026.
Selection Process.
5.1. Shortlisting of Candidates for Written Exam. Shortlisting of candidates for issue of hall tickets would be undertaken based on marks secured in SSC/
Matriculation and ITI, ni a ratio of 70:30 and a merit list wil be drawn up. Hal tickets for appearing in written examination wil be sent to the shortlisted applicants in the ratio of 1:5 against existing vacancies in each trade and category to maintain reservation quota as per extant guidelines.
5.2. Written Examination. OMR based written examination comprises of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (Mathematics 35, General Science 35, General Knowledge 30) in English language with each question carrying one mark would be conducted for a duration of two hours at Visakhapatnam. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers.
5.3. Final Merit List. Final Merit List wil be prepared trade and category wise based on marks obtained in the written examination. Tie breakers will be the date of
birth in the order of elder to younger followed by name of candidates (as per SSC/ Metric/ Std X) in the alphabetical order.
