Defence Research & Development apprentice

 Engagement of Trade Apprentices (Under the Apprentices Act 1961 as amended in 1961, 1973 & 2014) 

Research Centre Imarat (RCI) is a premier laboratory of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Missile Complex, DRDO spearheading R&D in a wide range of Avionics Systems for diversified defence and aerospace applications. The Laboratory invites ONLINE applications from young and meritorious Indian nationals for Engagement of Trade (ITI Passed) Apprentices for a tenure of one year. Selection will be made on the basis of Academic Merit/Written Test/Interview as required, subject to satisfactory verification of the documents.

2. ITI in Electronic Mechanic 20 

3. ITI in Electrician 15 

4. ITI in Computer Operator and Programming Assistant (COPA) 10 

5. ITI in Turner 10 

6. ITI in Machinist 05 

7. ITI in Welder 05

Consolidated stipend per month (Rs. 7,700 to Rs. 8,050) will be given according to the Apprenticeship Rules

Terms & Conditions for Selection of Apprentices: 

1. Before applying, candidate should read the complete advertisement carefully and ensure that they have fulfilled eligibility criteria and other norms of the post/ Apprenticeship stated in the advertisement in all respects. 

2. All qualifications should be from Indian institutes recognized by Appropriate Statutory Authority. 

3. Candidates for Trade Apprentices should have registered at www. apprenticeshipindia.org. Non-registered candidates will be rejected. 

4. Application registered on-line on www.apprenticeshipindia.org ONLY will be accepted. 

5. Those candidates who have completed the qualifying examination (ITI) as regular candidates are only eligible to apply. 

6. Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination (ITI) in the year 2018, 2019 and 2020 are ONLY eligible. 

7. The tenure of the Apprenticeship for above Trades would be ONE YEAR, commencing from execution of the Contract of Apprenticeship. 

8. A physical fitness certificate from a Civil Assistant Surgeon should be produced by the selected candidate at the time of joining. 

9. RCI being highly protected establishment, Selected candidates have to submit the following certificates at the time of joining: a. Submission of police verification certificate from their local police station; and b. Submission of conduct/character certificate from head of previous educational institute OR from a Group ‘A’ Gazetted officer. 

10. Verification of credentials shall be done and in case of any deviation from or nonconformity with the desired qualification, candidature of the candidate shall be summarily rejected. 

11. Suppression of facts will also lead to disqualification, at any stage of the selection process or during the training period. 

12. Candidates who have already undergone or who are currently undergoing Apprenticeship under Apprenticeship Act 1961 are not eligible to apply. 

13. No TA/DA will be paid to the applicants called for any stage of the selection process. 

14. The apprentices will NOT be provided any hostel accommodation/ quarter/transport by the establishment at any stage of the selection process, and also during the training period. Also no allowances will be admissible except the consolidated stipend. 

15. Candidates selected for training will not be allowed to withdraw from training except for reasons which are beyond their control. Before commencement of the training, the candidates will have to execute a Contract of Apprenticeship. Those who absent themselves are liable to refund the whole cost of their training as well as the amount received as stipend as determined by the Central Apprenticeship Advisor. 

16. Offer of apprenticeship does not confer on the candidates, any right for absorption in DRDO. 

17. Any canvassing or personal follow up with an intention of inducting the process of selection of apprentice by and on behalf of any candidate shall lead to immediate cancellation of candidature. 

18. RCI reserves the right to withdraw/cancel the advertisement if circumstances so warrant without assigning any reason thereof. 

19. RCI reserves the right to cancel/restrict/enlarge/modify the selection process, if need arises, without assigning any reason.

20. In case of any dispute, the legal jurisdiction will be at Hyderabad. 

21. Every apprentice who had completed the period of training will have to undergo a test to be conducted by the National Council for Training in vocational trade to determine his/her proficiency in the designated trade. Only on passing the test, a certificate of Proficiency in the trade would be issued by the National Council. 

22. The engagement and training are strictly in compliance with the provision of the Apprenticeship Act 1961 and there is no obligation for employment of Apprentices on completion of their training. 

How to Apply: 

a) Eligible candidates have to register in the ONLINE web portal of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) i.e. www.apprenticeshipindia.org and get the Registration number. They have to update their profile by uploading SSC, ID proof, Qualification, Category (if applicable), PWD documents (if applicable) and Aadhar Number. 

b) In the same portal candidates have to apply for apprenticeship opportunity in Research Centre Imarat. 

c) Application registered on-line on www.apprenticeshipindia.org ONLY will be accepted. 

d) Last date to apply: 10 days from the publication of advertisement.
